Dr. Mery Lossada, MD, HMDC, FAPA, FAAHMP, HMD is Hospice of Marion County’s Chief Medical Officer, as well as Medical Director for Carewell Supportive Care since 2010. She is also Medical Director of Empath Health affiliates Suncoast Hospice and Suncoast Hospice of Hillsborough. Dr. Lossada holds board certifications in Neurology, Psychiatry, Hospice and Palliative Medicine, and Hospice Medical Director. She is currently vice chair of the Bioethics Committee for the two HCA hospitals in Ocala and is also on the Bioethics Committee at Advent Health Ocala. Dr. Lossada is a Diplomat Neurologist and Psychiatrist and belongs to the Board of American Medical Specialties. She also is an affiliated clinical assistant professor in the College of Medicine’s Department of Aging and Geriatrics at the University of Florida. Dr. Lossada is a fellow with the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Care Medicine (AAHPM). Prior to joining HMC, she had her own private practice in Ocala. She holds medical degrees from the University of Miami, Florida MD, combined Neurology and Psychiatry, and from Universidad del Zulia, Venezuela, Medical Surgeon.
